Adolescent Health in Rural Southwest Norfolk County: A Social Phenomenon - This paper presents the results of a participatory action project on the health, opinions and needs of youth in the rural area of southwest Norfolk. Teenagers there had been found to have substantilly higher rates of smoking and underage drinking compared to Ontario youth in general, were prone to risky behaviours and were the at high risk for suicide. The paper demonstrates the value of community engagement and asset identification in addressing rural health and social issues.
